Short-Term Rental Fee Increase Means Big Win for Pocono Township Taxpayers

July 23, 2025

Smart policy change brings in $156,000 annually without raising taxes on residents

Another win for Pocono Township taxpayers!

Short-term rentals have long presented challenges in residential communities. While our township continues to limit them to RD and Commercial zones, we also recognize the need to collect revenue in a way that eases the burden on local homeowners. That’s why I introduced a motion, passed unanimously by the board, to raise the Township Development Unit (TDU) fee for short-term rentals from $500 to $2,500.

This change is expected to generate an additional $156,000 in annual revenue for Pocono Township. Most importantly, it allows us to reinvest in our community without increasing taxes on hardworking residents.

This is about fairness and fiscal responsibility. Visitors and commercial property owners using our beautiful township for profit should contribute more to the services and infrastructure they rely on.

I’m proud to continue fighting for policies that protect our neighborhoods and make sound financial sense for our community. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to keep Pocono Township strong and self-sustaining.
